Impact | Sustainable Innovation | ALPHA Program
Giftsy was proud to present at Web Summit Qatar as part of the ALPHA Startup Program, showcasing our peer-to-peer platform designed to gift and swap secondhand clothing, reduce textile waste, and build meaningful community connections.
Representing Giftsy at the startup booth were CEO Cindy Lee and CTO Rosario, sharing our vision for a more conscious and circular future in fashion. It was an incredible opportunity to introduce Giftsy’s mission-driven marketplace to global investors, founders, and ecosystem leaders.
We had an inspiring time connecting with fellow entrepreneurs from around the world — learning about what they are building, exchanging ideas, and exploring collaboration opportunities across industries. The energy, innovation, and bold thinking at Web Summit reaffirmed that the future belongs to founders who are solving real-world problems with scalable solutions.
For us, Web Summit was more than just a showcase. It was a moment of pride.
Pride in how far Giftsy has come.
Pride in the mission to reduce waste and empower conscious consumption.
Pride in building a solution that gives power back to people — shifting from a “consume and dispose” model to a circular, community-driven alternative.
Giftsy exists to extend the lifespan of clothing, reduce environmental impact, and cultivate generosity through technology. We are not just building a platform — we are building a movement toward mindful ownership and sustainable exchange.
We truly enjoyed our experience in Doha, Qatar. The city’s energy, hospitality, and growing innovation ecosystem made Web Summit an unforgettable milestone for Giftsy.
Grateful for the connections made, the inspiration gained, and the global conversations started.
The future of circular fashion is collaborative — and we are just getting started.
Looking ahead, our next major initiative focuses on measuring and reducing carbon impact through clothing reuse. We are building a data-driven model to capture the carbon footprint saved by extending the life cycle of garments. By quantifying environmental impact, Giftsy aims to empower users, partners, and communities with transparent sustainability metrics — turning every swap into measurable climate action.
